INTER-TABAK 2005

"As Germanys leading trade fair
for tobacco products and smoking accessories,
 Inter-tabac is the most important commercial date of the year
for the tobacco trade.
Over 150 specialists traders, wholesalers and retailers
exhibit their products.
The steady increase in the number of visitors each year
confirms Inter-tabac`s importance
 as a forum for the industry and traders."

"Almost 4,500 trade visitors
 (access is restricted to trade only)
from all over Germany and neighbouring countries
make their way to Dortmund for Inter-tabac."

First I went to Mauricio for a home made Grappa from Luigi Viprati
 


With a little Grappa and nice girls at my side I can stand it all it much easier
 


It is always a great pleasure and fun to meet Luigi.
I try my very best to sell his pipes because he has such a wide range
of flawless freehands without any fills
with great grains around the bowls and beautiful bird eyes
on rim and bottom.
 


As every year I always meet any many friends:
Joao Reis, H.-G. Noske, Kai Nielsen
 


Rainer Barbi and Nils Thomsen from Berlin,
just to mention a few.
 


The most interesting item on the fair is this "Mohawk-Harley" to me.

Have to search for a profitable second income
that I can afford such a beauty some day.
 


Big stands on the fair and prayers to Manitou for better business
 


The Twin Towers of Arnold André remember me to somewhat that we call
"Gigantomanie" in Germany, but they still stand.
 



Since more and more people are unemployed and cannot afford new pipes -
since business increases with presmoked pipes on Ebay,
since there are more and more private sellers online,
pipe and tobacco dealers search for articles
on which they still can make a little profit. -
But to me it seems a bit strange to sell CO2 guns
in a pipe and tobacco store -
This is also a result of the anti-smoking-campaign:
Smoking tobaccoes can cause death -
playing with guns is fun.
WE LIVE IN A CRAZY WORLD !

I arrived at the fair on Saturday, early afternoon.

What I found were crowded hallways and exhibitors visiting each other.

Industry, manufacturers, and wholesalers
spent tenthousands for their stands on the fair...
... and nobody needs poor pipesters or retailers here !
